Anyway, if you rely on BitLocker in TPM mode (boot without PIN), you should know that anyone can steal your computer, sniff 32 bytes off of the LPC bus, stick them into libbde, and decrypt your disk. Yes, it's that easy. Solder 7 wires to $favorite_fpga_board, decrypt drive.

Ahhh, good point, it does stop you just loading Hirens or whatever and just patching the SAM.

I know the Bitlocker security with TPM is basically laughable for anyone a bit interested, but it has one use case: a petty thief and having non-IT-security aware people having something slightly better than password11 for FDE. As I said, it's just *slightly* better than no FDE.
