Since posting this tweet (via https://beautifuldingbats.com/hey-howd-you-do-that …), I've learned how using unicode for "fonts" makes tweets illegible to folks using screen readers. Use sparingly, or not at all—& describe your photos. Thanks to @FriendlyAshley for calling me in here!

Yep. I still have no idea what it says.
Yeah, realistically you're going to run into systems without font support for these characters more often than into people using screen readers. I only ever use them sparingly for effect for this reason.
