PSA: If you want Spectre v2 mitications (IBPB) on Ryzen/Threadripper and haven't or can't update your BIOS, here's an updated /lib/firmware/amd-ucode/microcode_amd_fam17h.bin: https://mrcn.st/t/microcode_amd_fam17h.bin …. AMD doesn't care about desktop Linux users, only EPYC, apparently.
This is extracted from the latest BIOS update from the X399 Taichi board, and converted to the appropriate format for the Linux AMD microcode update code. The EPYC update is identical to the official one from AMD, but I added 4 others (one of which is unused/unreferenced).
