Performance-wise, sure, but it would be super handy for getting data off NVME-only SSDs

I'm sure you can already do this with one of those USB-PCIe bridge chips and the right driver.

The only things I've seen like that are either thunderbolt, actually usb-sata, or just pinned through the to the USB pins on mini-pcie, not pcie on usb.
