Well... crap. The gunk is on an inner surface between two elements that are apparently molded together into a common piece of plastic. How... does this happen? Is there a way to take this apart to clean it?pic.twitter.com/Y49X6UeI3p

Somehow that worked. The compound element is now mostly back together without gunk inside (there used to be a very visible mottled film that scattered light on the inner surface).pic.twitter.com/MMYY8S5YBu
