Yes, those were supposed to be 24 kHz and 4800 Hz sine waves, respectively. The glitch only happens at 100% full scale, 99.9% PCM volume fixes it (but not just lowering the mixer).

Wow, even worse than the first few ESS AudioDrives. They worked well in 8-bit mode, but the transition from -1 to 0 in 16-bit mode was equal to 256 normal steps.

I live in a
#retrocomputing#chiptune world where an ESS AudioDrive -- as undesirable as it might be -- is an upgrade.
