the sad sight, i see all too often "what can we learn about on this Raspberry Pi that we can't do otherwise?" "i know let's play Minecraft!!" on the other hand, the Arduino were the most productively used hardware the CS department ever bought ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

To me, Pi's are just cheap, throwaway machines. Which makes me feel a touch sad. I think lower level has a lot more utility to teach people how machines work, and the Pi is just too complex.

And not even well designed. *Why* do they keep having power delivery issues? Every Pi I've used has complained of low supply voltage at some point. Just got a LattePanda - it's faster, better OSS drivers, better desktop support, and runs stable on PSUs the Pi hates.

And then there's the comically bad USB controller (the "I cannot handle more than 8 outstanding requests" one). Just why. "Cheap" doesn't justify these issues!
