bitcoin is useful for strictly one thing, which is making payments (potentially cross-border) circumventing the traditional financial system

it's useful for absolutely nothing else and unfortunately those transactions *directly* fund the extinction of the human race

i mean yes but all of the logic above also applies to, for example, cars

to a degree I hate BTC especially probably due to being technologically minded, intentional waste, and libertarians

... but... those three apply very much to cars...

the ICE produces something other than heat and has gotten more efficient over time

right, but dissipating energy as heat isn't the problem (literally all energy we put to use eventually dissipates as heat), emissions are and the kind of person who buys a car to show off would usually 'tune' it to reverse all the work vendors did to reduce emissions

sure, but most cars actually _do something_ as a result of all those emissions
