Fun fact: (some) HP Smart Array controllers, LSI MegaRAID cards, and LSI SAS HBAs are all the same physical silicon with different firmware. So the Linux kernel contains at least 3 different drivers for the same hardware. With similar-but-really-meaning-the-same register names.
Dell uses LSI firmware interfaces and drivers. I'm talking about drivers using completely different interfaces and feature sets.
