Ugh, the already ridiculously expensive IDA Pro support renewal is $90 more expensive than last year ($469 vs $379). Maybe they really do want to keep encouraging people to switch to an alternative or write their own.
I'm not blaming the dev for this issue (though they *may* be to blame; I haven't analyzed r2's packaging to determine if they're distro-packaging-friendly with all that fork story). I'm saying I've had a crappy first experience every time I try radare. Fault is irrelevant.

the first experience doesn't really matter, either you want to use it or you let it be! I had a crappy first "experience" with Windows too
#BSOD (compared to MacOS and Linux) but I am still using it
