Good developers know how to write software that uses the strengths of both menu/panel/graphics-driven and command/shortcut-driven applications together without eschewing either. I don't build UNIX pipelines using drag and drop and I don't edit photos by typing in commands.
The original point was utterly vacuous from the start, because the CLI vs. GUI debate is utter nonsense and these days just an excuse for CLI users (who then use GUIs when they feel like it anyway) to feel superior.

I don't even think IDA's interface is that good. The original point was every time I try radare something's broken, and this time I got called a kiddie for trying, which is an experience that mirrors that of several people I know.
