Ugh, the already ridiculously expensive IDA Pro support renewal is $90 more expensive than last year ($469 vs $379). Maybe they really do want to keep encouraging people to switch to an alternative or write their own.

Blame gentoo for not packaging r2 or cutter properly. Your bug is because this build seems to use a 4 year old version of capstone with bugs instead of the fork we ship based on v4 from git. We distribute binary builds for a reason.pic.twitter.com/RUfUi6IQgx

Blame Gentoo all you want, doesn't fix the first impression though :-)

I am an old
@gentoo user, but for some software they struggle to keep up. TeX, OCaml, Coq, Axiom, etc... Partly because of their policy against bundling libs, partly because of the lack of 4.0 capstone release for years. "Release early, release often" was invented for a reason. -
That’s why we have been asking
@capstone_engine to make a new release almost every month during 4 years. Seems like that will be a reality soon (1-2 years?).

that's not very smart response is it? if gentoo had a buggy ebuild for IDA free that would screw up the installation would you criticise IDA for an awful first impression? doesn't make much sense
