Looks like my Nexus 10 battery died *again*. It seems nobody manufactures batteries for it that aren't complete garbage and die after 10 cycles and a few months. Time for a new tablet? I only use it for watching stuff on flights, it seems such a waste... :(
I suspect the problem here is the original battery was designed to handle a higher charge termination voltage than is typical (pushing the battery hard) and these 3rd party sellers use generic stuff that just fails when pushed that hard.

A Samsung device, pushing the battery hard?!? Maybe technically possible to build a custom kernel that changes the charge controller chip params (or tweak them in sysfs). If you could be bothered, that is.

Could be, yeah. I was thinking about that, though I'm not sure if the bootloader might need tweaking too (or else I need to make sure I never let it charge to completion while powered down).
