Even just a dock that allowed a single daisy chain so I could plug in a single usb 3.1 type c peripheral in addition to whatever other ports. I know for a fact thats not too much to ask.

Type C is obscenely complex once you start throwing hubs into the mix. Cost-effective multiport full-featured type C hubs are probably only going to happen once someone makes a big fat "does all the things for a type C hub" chip.

Yeah, I'm aware, unfortunately. Id put my hat in the ring for designing such a chip but I lack time and tools and money and usb-know-how. As is there's still no demand for that type of usb-c hub asic so there won't be any luck for a while probably. Still disappointing.
