Mike McCue at Netscape in '97 or so did prophesy that JS would be in hardware some day. All part of the plan :-P.
Catching up on Java too, eh? :-) (Java bytecode execution made its way into ARMv5 in 2001, I guess because Java was all the rage on feature phones back then - they got rid of it on newer CPUs, though)
