      Yet another JS WTF. JS uses 64-bit floats for numbers, but it *lies* when displaying them. 0x4000000000000000 is 4611686018427387904 and is *perfectly* represented as a float. But JS renders it as 4611686018427388000, because that has fewer significant digits in decimal?! pic.twitter.com/xbYbqMP9mY

      Also, I’m not saying I don’t use JavaScript, I most certainly do. It is useful and ubiquitous, but I don’t think it’s the most eloquent, intuitive, or technically accurate language.

      It's more expensive to do what JS does than to do it right. Usually the answer to "why is JS stupid?" is "because Netscape did it wrong and nobody dares to break backwards compatibility".
