I swear, the next time Google Keyboard autoincorrects "lets" into "let's" for me I'm going to fly to Mountain View and beat some sense into an engineer. Who the fuck thought that was a good idea? Why has this been going on for ages now?
Same shit with it's and its. Why is this thing *ever* modifying correct words (in context that isn't definitely wrong)? Give me the damn suggestion but *never* autocorrect for fuck's sake! I'll type "its" and if I want "it's" I'll tap the damn suggestion! WTF @google?!
for me Gboard is pretty alright, but I have all sort if autocompletion and autochanging disabled
I have Hacker's Keyboard, but that's mostly for SSH. I want a normal keyboard with autocorrect, just not with dumb autocorrect!
Mine (pt-br) does something similar by always changing "e" (and) to "é" (is) all the time
I was going to say the samething... Also, I think if you manually correct the keyboard, like, 5 times in a row it stops correcting “e” to “é”. It may help in english too.
You can easily turn it off from the keyboard options.
Where? I don't want to turn off autocorrect, I want it to not do it for correct words.
It's been doing the same in French for a few months/years, autocorrecting "a" (have) to "à" (at) all the time... most times if you keep writing, after a few words it gets the context and changes it back, but not always.
This and the old bug that causes the keyboard to retract immediately when rendered for input in some cases
