HDCP is only enabled when playing something from Hollywood or Netflix, too. Not for more important things like bank account logins.

But the whole thing is nonsense anyway, because the HDCP licensing requirements *explicitly* set the bar at "Joe Average cannot rip an HDCP-encrypted connection" levels. E.g. fully licensed TVs exist with a mux chip that spits out plaintext HDMI on the other end. Tap and go.
