Ever wondered what’s in hw ethernet jack style implants? Notice it has a few more than 8 pins. Parents came from communist country, and defected to avoid their regular bugging of their own staff, so I grew up finding bugs. I think they mistakenly shipped me the wrong Raspi 3b+pic.twitter.com/GyR9bCb4Ek

It likely is an ethernet jack with integrated magnetics. https://www.molex.com/product/magneticmodularjacks.html … 'Magnetics' is the voltage transformer part of your ethernet "card". On designs with discrete magnetics it looks like this thingie: Might be familiar if you are old enough :-) (if not, it's a bug)pic.twitter.com/trdeQMERuy

It's not a MOSFET and it's not an IC. That jack has 4 small capacitors, 1 large capacitor, and 4 resistors as part of the PoE functionality. Everything in the photo matches up with the datasheet.https://twitter.com/marcan42/status/1001667684059308038 …

Yes, yes really. You're having paranoid delusions again. Everything in your photo is in the datasheet. Also, poor magnetics. pic.twitter.com/Fy6oarFfBU
