To be clear here, I'm by no means dissing @inkscape and its developers! We all do our best to work on the projects we maintain. I'm just thinking it'd be more efficient to have more specialized devs than people randomly contributing fixes.
Then again, I tend to get bored of stuff and move on to something else... perhaps that's a significant factor in the "random fixes". Maybe it's more efficient after all for people who get bored easily to jump around rather than attempt to stick to one thing.

I think there's some truth in both of these theories.
Is anyone paid to work on Cairo? Because if not ... that seems like a problem. Or maybe they're just overloaded. I know when we had a full time developer on Haiku that trivial annoying stuff got fixed very quickly.
The issue was in Inkscape, not Cairo. I don't know if any of the devs get paid to work primarily on it, not sure. @___Mc__ has a Patreon for it though, maybe he knows.
