You can add location information to your Tweets, such as your city or precise location, from the web and via third-party applications. You always have the option to delete your Tweet location history. Learn more
As for the fix, if you want, you can make the merge request on https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/merge_requests/ … (or I can do it this evening after work)
I didn't go straight to MR because honestly I have no idea if the fix is the right approach. It works for me, but I want someone who knows the codebase to tell me if it makes any sense or not :-)
As for the bugs, that sounds like an unhealthy amount of open bugs for a project with such a small team. I'm not blaming the developers, it's just an unfortunate situation.
