Protestants are still baffling to me, though
I feel like when most evangelist Protestants try to talk to me about their religion, they both assume that I know absolutely nothing about Jesus and the Bible (because if I did I would already believe in it) then go on to talk in a very in-universe way about it
In my experience, the religious sects that make the most sense to me are the ones that do the least evangelism
I will also say that one of my favorite episodes of @IDEOTVPod was Left Behind reviewed by a Christian scholar.

They sound like nerds
To me it's basically all the same stuff, just different names and sometimes different days of worship and holidays.
They’re just like any other fandom, loaded with toxic gatekeepers. smdh
Coming from that culture (and now out of it), I can say that there is this sense with them that, if you were open to their message, that God had already "prepared your heart" for it, which of course takes some of the pressure off them to make it comprehensible.
This is why so much Christian television and preaching falls flat on me. Most of them don't think people know a lot about religion so they act like this is the first time we've ever heard of God and the Bible in every single sermon. Judaism and Islam assume you do know SOMETHING.
Many Evangelicals seriously believe that God makes himself known to everyone and atheists and agnostics who claim never to have experienced him are consciously lying out of hubris. This explains a lot.
Eg why a lot of arguments are in-universe and based on finding minor "fallacies" and "contradictions" - they think if they can just find the right argument you'll break down and admit it.
