Code Reviewers - it's easy to go pure negative/nitpicking, even if you're using helpful/constructive language.
#ProTip if you see something you like, SAY SOMETHING. It makes people's days. Today I had a total#TIL in a PR.pic.twitter.com/eScX6saWZl

This is an excellent example of finding what is being measured and figuring out how to impact those variables to produce a desired outcome. Hacking 101https://twitter.com/StevenJCrowley/status/1223977380794064897 …

I tell people to stop worrying about futuristic runaway smart AI, because it's stupid current AI that will kill us, this is what I mean. Someone bought a product that *literally* text-matched the word "charity" as 'good' and "vodka" as 'bad' and is making hiring choices with it.https://twitter.com/kmlefranc/status/1221869659139366912 …

I really can’t stand this aphorism, often repeated. If Henry Ford had asked people what they needed, listened very carefully, and applied critical thinking, he might have produced much better automobiles and happier customers than he actually ended up with.https://twitter.com/MatthewEGunter/status/1223643205704523782 …

The DNC apparently stuck to the rules when they were helping to eliminate candidates of color. Having eliminated them, the rules are being scrapped to give a billionaire a chance to buy the election and not have to compete against the eliminated ones.https://twitter.com/politico/status/1223325410261377031 …

Whenever I see someone on one of these, I like to imagine they started out with a much larger vehicle and their journey has been riddled with mishaps.pic.twitter.com/GcAhhONDHY

Massively underestimated: The “cost” of people coming to work knowing things are broken & fearing the next thing breaking. This holds for usability issues, “bugs”, “quality”, elephants in the room, strategy misalignment...anything. The drag and dissonance is extremely costly.

Fun fact: "If you can't measure it, you can't manage it" is a misquote. I know, I got it wrong for *years* too! The full Deming quote is actually: “It is wrong to suppose that if you can't measure it, you can't manage it – a costly myth.”

“like” and “um” are verbal cues that “this briefest of pauses is not the end of my thought” so they actually increase in the presence of a person you think will cut you off guess which group does the most cutting off and so hears them the most !!https://twitter.com/dirtcup_art/status/1222621574521638912 …

Imagine a scenario in which the first-in-the-nation presidential caucus happened in a place that was as black or brown as Iowa is white. What do you think would happen?

They say “We can’t do that. We’re not Amsterdam.” You respond “Amsterdam wasn’t always like that either,” showing before & after transformations illustrating that cities we admire made CHOICES. They make more tired excuses. (1e van der Helststraat, 1978 & 2005 HT
