This movie has so many good lines and great performances and chemistry and the basic plot is just... wildly uncool

Kind of the movie corollary to FRASIER.
-
Frasier was in private practice in Boston, he only became a radio shrink when he moved back home I Seattle. Didn't he meet Diane because she was a patient of his?

I remember Ebert’s review mentioning this point.

Is there... an easier way to break into radio? Because I have to dissect a horse next week and I'd rather not.

I remember watching it for the first time as a kid and I liked it a lot but I was confused the whole time because I thought she was really pretty

It's also weird to me that Bryan is so into Abby's "radio voice" but doesn't recognize it when "Donna" is speaking to him

It was supposed to be the female Cyrano de Bergerac / Roxanne but yes JG seemed more desirable than Uma Thurman in that movie, which ruined the premise.

I watched it for the first time in Hulu & the whole time I was like “but Jeanne you’re pretty??” How is this a manufactured problem??? But also dear god please find Uma Thurman some confidence and a nice functional partner.
