THREAD on AR-15: I’m a US Marine which means I do have some professional experience with guns. Feel free to criticize my position or disagree but please don’t question my military service or knowledge of guns. I served this Nation with my life and I only want the best for it. 1/

I am a second amendment advocate and believe that civilians shouldn’t own military weapons. Want home defense? Buy a shotgun! Thanks for sharing. Completely agree.

Background checks must be universal. The NRA, a fake non-profit that’s a PAC and a lobby to sell guns and ammo, misinforms and intimidates against common-sense reform.

The assault on the Capitol was a time when all these gun owners should have come out to defend their country from being taken over by armed assailants. Did even one show up to protect anyone? No. Because the good guy with a gun out saving people is a myth used to sell more guns

Thanks for the thread. Couldn’t agree more. I’ve asked every owner of an AR-15 what is the practical (and I mean *practical*) purpose of an AR-15 in the hands of a civilian. Never got even a remotely intelligible answer. Because there ISN’T one.

They’re not even useful for home defense. A large dog and a cheap shotgun will do ya. And usually the dog is plenty. Most home invaders are opportunists, and a house with a barking dog presents a poor opportunity.
