He's the one who fudges his numbers, who talks over women, who takes credit for others' works, whose entire team loathes him but suffers his attentions for the same reasons everyone else does. They are the upwards failures and children of privilege. They run the whole world.

He is the one who is given a "little money" to "play with" who starts a business with his buddies, promotes people without qualifications to be HR and accounting, takes his team to strip clubs, and then hires a PR firm to craft his apologies as all the other Hawleys rally to him.

He has a wife he cheats on with a girlfriend he beats. He has a one bedroom overlooking Central Park. He's Christian, of course, he was a Young Life leader. He started a Young Republicans club as a satellite to his debate team and he used to winter in Vail. We all know this guy.

Walk into any franchise business in the United States and ask them if their District Manager is Hawley. 30% of them will be. 80% of their Regional Directors will be. 100% of their Regional Vice Presidents on up will be. The higher you swim, the more sociopaths you encounter.

Oh - I guarantee you that if you're doing the same job as a Hawley, he's getting paid 30%-80% more than you are. More if you're a woman. I guarantee you that. I guarantee you that he reached your level with at least 60% less experience. He wants to pick your brain, grab a lunch,

his verbs are all aggressive and speak to acts of defilement and scavenging behaviors. He tucks his dress shirts into his jeans. He knows his wine. He was born to this and he is completely hollow on the inside. He's a husk. Cold wind blows through him. Beware of Hawleys.

It is a 100% certainty that if your organization is large enough, there is a Hawley nested in there. They have infested our world and they're a stubborn parasite. No one likes them. Everyone fears them. Everyone. They run the world and we let them because we do not. That's it.

We give our lives to make Hawleys wealthier: to fund their Sandals vacations to Cabo with their monstrous children and their lonesome wives who still wear their collars up; to fill the tanks on their Audis; to buy their expensive camping coolers. We give our lives for them.

We do it because we think we have no choice. Our time drains away and the art we could have created, the depth we could have provided to the world, is left where no one can see it. We're tired. We're so tired. And then we die and we're glad - and Hawley thinks you should

put away a third of every paycheck for a rainy day. And he thinks you should drink Hydrogen Peroxide to cure the cancer you developed along the way. His teeth are white and sharp. He's a very comfortable public speaker. Nothing touches him. Nothing ever could.
