Can B&W fans turn down the color settings to 0 on any movie ever and achieve the same goals right now?
Suggestion. Hard core B&W loving LOGAN fans should not make any plans on the evening of May 16th.

Won't be on a TV. And the answer is no. To make a great B&W version of a film, the whole thing's gotta be regraded & timed shot by shot.

Was it shot with black and white also in mind, or was it just an inspiration from the photography?

We were making a color film but were all conscious that the hard edge lighting schemes would play well in monochrome. Photos confirmed it.

When filming Logan, did you guys use old techniques of B&W film making? (deeper saturation, richer contrast in the colors ect.)

DP & I shot lotsa night w/ sculptural back & sidelight separating actors from bg. Great vistas, dust, smoke & texture lending to monochrome.
