At the point when work writing & directing big franchises has become the emotionally loaded equivalent of writing a new chapter of The Bible (w/ the probable danger of being stoned & called a blasphemer), then a lot of bolder minds r gonna leave these films 2 hacks & corp boards.

Oh? Like the battle of those who waited 34 real years waiting to see Luke Skywalker "triumphantly" return as a grimy, jaded and suicidal codger? Yes, that's exactly the battle we fought. "Give us a depressed Luke, NOW! That's the only arc that makes sense after ROTJ!" 😉

There are realities you are over-looking. Yes they waited 34 years. I don't think that's Rian's fault. And the actor who played Luke was now 66. So maybe you should be "angry" at George for jumping back to the prequels. And didn't JJ already establish Luke's look and tone in FA?

While Calling the fandom Manbabies and Citing that REAL FANS and Rian get along fine. Right. Look, Mangold, I consider your movies overrated but got nothing against you personally. But if your going to jump into a heated argument like this, don't do it while taking sides.

In truth u have nothing against anyone in this tussle personally. U don't know anyone except thru press & tweets. U have a series of assumptions glued together from raw feelings, Frakensteined quotes & PR chatter of @HamillHimself. I think the Luke u admire would tell u "move on"

Fact is, if Rian in particular and Lucasfilm in general actually tried to make it look like they were taking many of the valid and intelligent criticisms to heart, Solo would have made money and the situation would be way more civil than it is now.
