Why would we want to return to an era when government bought overpriced equipment from their heavily protected national champions? Industrial policy too often linked to protection of vested interests.

Compared to what price would it be overpriced? To the Chinese price, where they pay their employees peanuts and don't fulfill our environmental standards? We are killing the EU industry with this kind of decision.
