It’s always the kids that suffer. In any other job if that happened you’d think fuck it, I’ll do the bare minimum, why should I bother when I’m not respected. Yet if teachers do the bare minimum, it’s the children that suffer. Teachers take on so much above and beyond.
bad story on local news. A reading primary school that was performing perfectly well as was, is having academy status forced on it against parents' wishes and teachers put on "term time only contracts" with 20% pay cut. Thanks Mr Gove - what a legacy

Similar here. No negative contractual effects have been mentioned yet, but give them time. As an ex-teacher who's gone through the process before it concerns & angers me. No one else really seems that bothered. Like private healthcare if service remains unchanged who's bothered?
