A subversive question here. Were you asking the University to pay for a bottle of water you would have bought at home, or the cost difference between what you paid in Melbourne and what you would have paid at home? Or was this a bottle you had to have because you were travelling?

We actually didn't intend to be reimbursed for the seltzer water, the "minibar" charge just got missed on the receipt when it was 1st submitted, but bc of teetotalling this caused a rejection requiring redoing the reimbursement... (1/2)

Same uni here. I have a good relationship with the finance team, first bc they are awesome, but second bc they are really good at explaining this stuff to me. Worth making a friend or two!

I *do* have friendly relations with the financial folks in my units... & they are awesome & they know I think they're awesome but this involves MULTIPLE units & institutional bureaucracy that is asinine (for example, evaluators can't make the needed adjustments, must start over).
