(hypothesis) critic : realism :: cynic : derealism

Maybe, but it depends on what you understand by realism. The funny thing about "realistic" is that "realist" is at odds with reality because a realist sticks with practical and immediate considerations while Reality is by definition something external and postulated!
-
So realism to me is logical favoritism towards some ontology. Derealism is like when you notice that the tree or any other objects that you experience is part of your consciousness and thus your internal model of the world and not the world, you don't extend outside yourself.
-
Any dualism is realism in your terms. Inner/outer etc. Radical decoupling from representation is required, total semiotic collapse.

Indeed! But what's crazy is that such a thing is possible as a technical project!pic.twitter.com/hYZTRLlEZo

So my tentative point of view here is that critics typically anchor some realism, while cynics tend to emerge from derealism, from being incapable or unwilling for whatever reason, to take certain classes of games seriously, folklorically.
