Why even have a body at all, why not asymptotic Landian transcendence via metashoggothic ultimate plasmality of form? Why be limited by archaic concepts like being and time and "body"? Y'all not even good transhumanists tbh.pic.twitter.com/bXGaMNiQVu

Earnestly this is remotely possible but not in time given current ecological limits among other physical restraints. Most of us aren't even prims but Kaczynskian technoskeptics and fans of not destroying the biosphere for plastic bullshit and ruined endocrine systems.

I'm not a fan of those things either, I don't think anyone is apart from the capitalists who profit from it. What I'm -also- not a fan of is abandoning human progress, rather than a) fixing the problems we've already created and b) improving ourselves and the world through tech.

tech influences behavior and development by changing incentive structures, interdependent industrial society inherently favours short term exploitation and growth rather than long-term stability. Read Kaczynski's "Why the Technological System will Destroy Itself"

basically you can't 'solve' these problems with tech even if you tried, because it by nature strongly disincentivises the creation and maintenance of such solutions

I agree with your second assertion, but not the first. Crony Capitalism does and always has done that, not tech. I don't think the solution is primitivism, I think it's decentralization. (hence the anarcho part of anarcho-ranshumanist.)

plot twist: they're the same assertion again, read the kaczynski essay I linked above (and the Unabomber manifesto if you haven't already). They're not so long and they explain what I'm trying to say in clear, simple language.

I'll check them out when I get home from work.

Let me phrase it this way: an apparent intrinsic problem of tech is unforseen negative consequences, this problem can't be solved with more tech since it's inherent. This gets worse as tech becomes harder to comprehend with increasing complexity and interconnectivity.
