Basically all of the social and ecological trends outlined in Kaczynskis work have continued and intensified just as he said. Same with Baudrillard's general thesis and Linkola as well.
-
Kaczynski is nothing but a green utopist that didn't like capitalist disenfrenchisement. As long as we live under the same economic base his ideas can not be tested. Baudrillard could be the dictionary defintion of postmodern revisions to Marx
-
Ted isn't a utopian at all, in fact his main critique of anprim is that it's utopian. Baudrillards picture of hyperrality and semiotic collapse are spot on man come on. Overpopulation is a problem. Liberal Capitalism exacerbates this very much.
-
Overpopulation can only be a problem of distribution under capitalism (in any form), as it is encouraged to not feed the entire population for profit And for Ted: The revolution against the industrial-technological system is merely a small setback, before a return to it
-
have you ever heard of environmental carrying capacity? tech will not hold that at bay forever, it'll only make the collapse worse
-
I have heard from it, but we are reaching a point, where we can permanetly increase this capacity through tech. Until that point redistribution of current ressources could easily feed 15-20 Million humans under a Cockshott economy
