it bothers me so much that there are people my age with a house, family they love and protect, well established in their community. Where did they find the time to do all that and the money to do it?

I'll tell my story. I met my wife when she was 17 and I was twenty. I was very lucky and she was a good girl from a strong family. We had lots of help from our parents and went to college an hour apart. But we made it work thru effort and dedication.

We lived in my college apartment for a while after we got married. Half way thru my legal career I went nuts because I'm not suited for office work and as we got established and got a house I changed careers.

The hardest thing I've ever done is that apprenticeship. After I made it out we bought our first real house with 30k extra from family. It was a struggle and I had fuck all for free time. She's a genius lit academic.

Without my family I'd be lost. Now it's up to me to support them financially since mom's dying from cancer and Dad's body is broke down. It's an honor and the only reason I don't move out to the remote lake house now instead of later.
