the diff between pre-bfa sylvanas and bfa sylvanas is always so shocking like while leveling alts and timewalking. pre bfa.. there's a lot of emotion, range there. FUN bfa its like the direction for every single line was just "like jafar saying 'your eternal reward'"

I feel like her decline started back in Cataclysm, and namely her short story where she commits suicide and is raised by the Val’kyr. She kind of goes from still evil, but at least relatable villain who wanted to forward the interests of her people at all costs, to Arthas 2.0.

Back in Vanilla, there was this groundwork put in place I feel like for a different direction as to how she’d get new Forsaken via the Crown of Will, an artifact that purges mind control effects on the wearer. They abandoned the entire idea shortly after.

tho I wonder if the pre-bfa sylvanas stuff I like would also suck if it was given bfa voice direction.. I wonder to what extent you could use all the same "writing" from bfa but just inject more emotion and just adjust her attitude and make it much more interesting 2 me

i like pit of saron a lot actually, cos she's an asshole, she still sort of sacrifices other horde people, but you can tell she's really invested in what she's doing there, she's eager and suspicious and determined... bfa sylv mood is mostly like.. bored omniscience
