    It’s my birthday today and I really want you to celebrate with me by watching this amazing documentary on Reconstruction that I had the honor of taking part in. And, yes, I was born on the anniversary of the end of the Civil War. I mean, of course.

    And even if it were true, I don't believe there would be anything to be ashamed of. As many of our most powerful and dynamic women and men were raised without fathers as those who were. I'm eternally grateful for my dad, but if he hadn't been here, my mother had me.

    Okay, because the wording of your first tweet said that I said something untrue when I only working off of what truth I was told. I would never intentionally exempt anyone's father. Your story was enough without that.
