I prefer the localized line. I haven’t played RD, so I don’t know the context of the scene, but the line to me gives off a sense of comradery between them, which to a new player would say “Hey, these people have known each other for a while”.
-
Thanks for the input! I theorized that for someone seeing it a first time, that would be the feeling someone gets (as opposed to someone who played the previous entry), which proves the point and likely intent of what the localization was aiming for. : )

The localization has obtained the rank of meme, though mostly due to the poor voice acting, whereas the original, though I can't speak for the Japanese community, hasn't. If not for it, what could be the chances for the original to beat the localization? This is interesting.
-
I'm surprised at the poll so far, since those who replied mostly preferred the localization, but a lot of silent voters went with original. It goes to show we can't take apparent opinion to be the only one! : )

Original. It gives us more flavor of Mia's character, instead of scolding Soren for not paying attention.
-
Indeed, as another user pointed out, it wouldn't be like Soren to not be watching his back. xD

While I prefer the localization, it does imply an ooc action for Soren. However, I do like the sense of camraderie it gives, as we don't often see Mia and Soren interacting.
-
In fact, we never see them interact outside this scene as far as I recall. xD Indeed, the main issue people have with the localization is that it's odd for Soren not to be watching his back in the first place. : ) Both sides have their ups and downs, as usual!
