Those who tried to execute our government officials in name of Trump are extremely dangerous. It’s thus understandable if Senators fear for their families’ safety if they vote to convict him.
I urge @SenSchumer to make this a secret ballot & let Senators vote without that fear.
I know we want accountability & for Senators to vote on the record re. the horrific events of 1/6. But very few people would actually do anything to put their families in imminent danger. And they shouldn’t have to.
@SenSchumer, a secret ballot is our only hope for conviction.
