being an adult is hard because there's so much stuff i want to put time into. it was easier when i was a kid and literally only had 1-2 interests and didn't have any projects i'd started. now i want to learn jp, but also make a videogame, write books, get insurance, get hired...

my boss who's jp and raised a kid abroad says my vocab (in reading) and cultural/historical knowledge is better than her kid's. but i keep hitting this bar. i made it this far mostly without living in japan or having natives to speak to. i need irl speaking practice.

i've been told a few times now my japanese is "almost like a native's". i have jlpt N1. passed N3 way back in like 2016. i have a Bachelor's in japanese. yet i don't get accepted for translation jobs that supposedly only require N3. and other jobs require native jp. frustrating

Also i met a 5yr old mtf. My childhood friend's kid. They're enrolling her as female when kindergarten starts soon. Interesting experience. Made me think a lot n get a little depressed

long story short i'm moving to the tacoma area until i can go to japan. already applied for some jobs and will continue the job hunt on monday. can't drive a car so my workplace options are limited, i want to buy an electric scooter that doesn't require a driver's license.
