throat. When I'm not doom scrolling and when I get to interact with folks because their tweets cross my timeline as I've decided to follow them not because someone I know follows them or likes their tweet.

I did make one change though, removing twitter from my phone means that at least the promoted tweets don't get served to me any more, so with a bit of luck, Elon doesn't make any money out of ads being served up in this soup of promoted crap.

I'll continue to kick around on both platforms but maybe Mastodon will reduce my impulses to shout into the void and save me from having transatlantic politics shoved down my neck each time I open the browser.

Neither are perfect and I'm not overly concerned about trying to workout which one is "better", they are independant platforms which are their to serve their users.
The bonus of the latter is its open source, so if it sucks, send in a PR and offer up a fix to improve it.

So maybe Mastodon is weird, maybe its got trouble scaling and with moderation, but so did/does twitter. Maybe I prefer to have a timeline I can scan and see stuff from people who's content I actually want to consume.

There is 1 tweet at the top by a person I follow, the rest are all tweets that Twitter thinks I might care about, but folks I don't follow. Some of these folks I've followed occasionally, but I don't currently. Other folks I've noticed recently popping up are people I've followed

Our youngest won't let us swab her but as everyone else has Covid we assume so does she.
You can see why it's hard to track down in kids though cause she's barely slowed down all day and is now snoring in bed. So basically it sounds like she has a cold. Which is clearly great...
