    Since Chicago started shutting down schools as an education strategy in 2002, 70,160 students have lived through a closing or seen all staff at their school fired; 61,420 of those students were black.

    Chicago made history in 2013 when it closed 50 public schools. But that’s only part of the story. A analysis shows Chicago has closed or fired all teachers at 200 schools since 2002. That's nearly a third of the district. Listen every day this week.
