So it's okay for the left to call anyone they disagree with a Nazi, which implicitly implies nothing is out of bounds, but pointing out the lies, omissions, and bias of the press is calling for murder.

Here's why I think your statement has drawn criticism, and I say this as someone who thinks Trump is irresponsible with his criticism and whiney about press. Imagine if someone had said this after the 2016 Dallas shooting:

"Supporting local police is important, what happened today is sickening. This alleged gunman appears to have had a longstanding grudge against the police and little else is known so far. But Obama is the only president in memory to say the 'police acted stupidly.'"

You cannot say something about a politician, especially on the very day of such an horrific event, without implying a connection, even with caveats. It's just a bad idea no matter what side one is on.

BTW, it's quite likely I have done this myself in the past (esp. with 55,000+ tweets on the books), and probably will again in the future; it's human nature. But hopefully I will catch myself, or someone will call me on it. Consider this an open invitation.
