I sometimes realize that capitalism discourages our imagination from growing too large in part because it’s an economic system so blatantly bad for us. When we have only a glimpse of freedom from extraction, we know in our guts this isn’t right.

Complacency is the only thing keeping capitalism alive. So few of us benefit while so many of us struggle. We’ve been robbed of our deep, primordial knowledge that this isn’t right and brainwashed into believing this is human nature.

Progress is not linear, we don’t have to believe the lie that because we’re here now that means we ought to be. We’re allowed to follow the intuition that says something went wrong along the way and we’d like to try again.
