    Yesterday, in hospital and with *a lot* of painkillers (early appendicitis/burst ovarian cyst), I came up with what I believed to be the most amazing plot for a MG thriller. Today I looked at the notes I made. This is all I have to remember my “amazing idea”...

    Okay, let me brag for a moment... You know the anthology we decided to publish? The one I co-edited and basically haven’t stopped talking about? One of my co-publishers told me today we’ve had over 1,200 sales in 10 days! And 20% of those were print sales!!

    Last month I submitted my first assignment for my Master’s, and I was convinced I’d gone way too dark with my middlegrade ghost story. But I just heard I got a first for it! This has boosted my confidence in writing MG so much. Now I’m going to write more creepy stuff.

    One of my favourite things about freelance editing is really getting to know your authors—and it’s so great when they stick with you. I’m just finishing up an edit on the 16th(!!!) manuscript from the same author, and the tension in this one is amazing.
