Is there any reason google chromecast has just stopped letting you cast YouTube on iOS lately I have to open close open close the app numerous times before YouTube will connect but Netflix and others will connect straight away

Hey Darren, we came across your tweet and wanted to help. What type of Chromecast do you have — 1st Gen (thumb drive) or 2nd/3rd Gen (puck)? Have you tried reinstalling your YouTube app?

Gotcha. Try reinstalling your YouTube app and see if it works. Rebooting your Chromecast and router would refresh the connection.

Reinstalling YouTube worked for a day however it once again won’t connect

It’s connecting straight away sometimes but other times it can take 5 minutes of opening and closing YouTube to connect
