Will you be able to hide the notch on the Google Pixel 3 XL, similar to other phones with notches. @madebygoogle

Exactly! @makebygoogle that space should still be utilized for the clock & notifications icons.

Can we hide the notch with a black bar and keep the notifications and time?

shouldn't the items be located in the hidden area...looks like a waste of screen space to me

I would be more than ok with keeping the notifications up in the top area as apposed to moving them down.

@madebygoogle I tested this on my P3XL and it's broken. The notifications/status icons got moved DOWN below the notch area. They should remain where they are and just have a black background. Is this being fixed prior to the consumer go-live? -
Added feedback to eyes free forum, but have a lot of people asking about this and this cannot be intended functionality.

Can you add the ability to adjust the amount of notch? Or at the very least the ability to put notifications in the hidden black area so screen real estate isn't wasted?

I think it will be great if they pushed down notification icon and make notch more usable by adding second screen feature like LG V20. Just my opinion.

Needs to be a normal option, not dev. And needs to still keep status icons in the notch area. Come on,
