Thanks, just trying to work out where the issue lies.

You're welcome. We'd like to help. Could you try rebooting your Chromecast, casting device, and Wi-Fi router for a minute to refresh the connection? If you're still getting the same result after the reboot, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Let us know how it goes.

Hey Ryan, just checking back in. How's it going? Did those steps help?

They’ve mostly gone, but still get the odd one - seems to be words starting with a strong consonant like T or K. Also seems to be two particular channels so wondering if they are having upload problems.

Gotcha. Could you try casting to a different cast enabled app and see if that works? Also, make sure your Chromecast is within 15-20 ft. of your router.

I only have one TV so only one device, and it’s 6ft from the router.

Thanks. Does this also happen to other apps you cast to the TV? Could you try watching videos from these channels on your phone? We'd like to know if the same thing happens even when you're not casting it.

Not that I’ve noticed, and I’ve tried NowTV, BBC iPlayer, and Netflix, so at the moment it’s only YouTube I get it on. It doesn’t happen on my phone. I only stream content on my TV nowadays, so don’t have an aerial plugged in.

Got it. Are you using an iPhone or an Android phone? Since this is only happening on YouTube, could you try reinstalling the app and see if that helps?

It’s an iPhone, but I was under the impression that on Chromecast it retrieves its own version of a video rather than actually playing from the app on the phone.

You're right, but the app version sometimes affects the overall casting experience. We'd still suggest reinstalling the app and if that doesn't work, you might want to reach out to our friends from @TeamYouTube for additional help and information.
