There’s nothing wrong with trauma. It’s the pathologization of trauma that really messes with people. It’s everyone acting like trauma is something terrifying that they’ll never be able to deal with. If you get to believe that you’re helpless, you’ll become helpless indeed.

Yeah, we're busy "erasing the stigma", but ppl can still get fired for needing too many therapy days, or just being mentally ill in general. Good luck proving there's a bias! Coming out as mentally ill has bad real world consequences, and it sucks.

Yeah, the business world certainly isn’t prepared for situations when feeling all the feels becomes a full time job. People are scared to ask for help because it’s “still not that bad”, until it gets that bad. It’s much easier to face your demons while you’re still strong.

https://twitter.com/treehouseriots/status/1199213067055304705 … I got more feed back for this post than any. While this could encourage writing or fetishizing depression, I took it to mean, “we are in this together, we got you.” If we admit we need help we’ll be surprised at how many hands are offered.

I agree. I wrote about depression once on my blog, and so many people reached out to me to share their stories. We don't need anyone to save us from depression or trauma as much as we need to feel heard, accepted and understood. Please do keep sharing
