if you too feel like an idiot after every conversation with a human, know that people will remember how you made them feel long after they’ve forgotten your words or lack thereof & that one day we’ll all be microcosmic interstellar dust awaiting rebirth in a planet’s primeval sea

Not only is Meg White a fantastic drummer, Jack also said the White Stripes would be nothing without her. To the journalist who dissed her, keep my ex husband’s ex wife name out of your f*cking mouth. (Please and Thank You)

Meg White is such a bad-ass goddess of a woman that Jack Gillis took *HER* surname when they married. Love that! Bow down, bitches 👑

as Gregor Samsa awoke one morning from uneasy dreams he found himself transformed in his bed into a gigantic insect. he then lived happily ever after.

one thing from the "lockdown" period of the pandemic that should become a normal part of new adult life is little virtual meetings with your friends, often across time zones, drinking, learning new games, knowing you'll always have each other's backs through the end of the world

the best part of having an old car is that i regularly get to see my mechanic, John. he grew up in Salem and every time i need work done, he lets me sit in his office and go through all his old photo books from a life lived in my favorite place.

astrophysics & paleontology as balms for depression & anxiety. can't get out of bed? let's recall that earth will one day see her very last sunrise. overthinking that conversation? let's recall that we are the limited byproduct of a fish deciding to try a day on the beach.

to be clear this is a tweet about how all romantic idealization is a myth & you can only meet humans where they're at, we're all broken and longing and inappropriate and that should make us bond instead of tearing each other apart

men used to hold you hostage in exchange for setting your eccentric inventor father free and then make you fall in love with them by gifting you the giant library of your dreams and being so sweet. now they're on snapchat in their 40s

the sluttiest thing a man can do is ask if you want the moon and if you just the say the word, he'll throw a lasso around it and pull it down

reminiscing fondly on the time i was gregor samsa for halloween, working at the bookstore, and i got in trouble bc the 4-foot bug arms i attached to my body wouldn't stop knocking over book displays. scolded for committing to the bit, what a shame
